Removing Uninstalled Old Antivirus Entries

Im using Windows Vista Ultimate.... I hav installed Antiviruses and Spyware
software in my system, but after when i uninstalled those software from my
system, they got uninstalled but their entries are still shown in security
center ( In malware protecion) and in some of those entries it still displays
that they were still turned "ON" ........
I was not able to delete those entries from security center
display....please tell me how to delete those entries from security
center........ I too had a another problem in deleting an entry ( In
uninstall or change a program ) ...... I accidently deleted a program without
uninstalling it after which this problem arised........


Please suggest me to recover from these problems ......

Click on the Start orb and type in the Search box:
cmd [enter]

You will see the link to the program appear above. Right-click on it and
choose "Run as administrator". This will start the command prompt. At
the prompt, type:

net stop winmgmt [enter]
cd /d %windir%\system32\wbem [enter]
ren repository repository.old [enter]
net start winmgmt [enter]

It may take a minute or so to complete while WMI rebuilds the database.
