Removing Novell Software

Hello

I have acquired a notebook computer that has Novell Network software
on it as it was in a corporate network (company now defunct, cannot
contact anyone from there)..

You need to log on to access the computer (I have the password) but I
would like to remove that unwanted process. I have searched for any
Novell programs on the hard disk but none show up on add/remove
programs or using Advanced Uninstaller Pro or on via Windows Explorer.

Wondering if anyone knows where it might be buried. I'm trying to
avoid a reformat As I need some of the programs currently on the
computer.

Would appreciate any help.

P.S. (Some of the control panel icons/processes are missing too e.g.
cannot change current wallpaper or change display settings).

You need to restore the computer to factory condition (or do a clean install
of Windows). There will be many settings in a domain-member computer that
will continually cause issues for you.

The best thing to do is to format the drive and reinstall Windows. Even
though it may not have the appearance of having any viruses or malware,
there is a possibility that it might. Then too you don't know what kind
of system policies have been set on the pc either. So it's better to
start with a fresh install of Windows so you'll know the current stat of
the pc.

If you didn't get any system restore cds with the laptop, then contact
the company that made it. They can provide you with copies of the
restore software for a nominal fee, usually around $10-15.

Thanks for the replies. I now have all the product keys & I am about
to reformat.
