Removing Linked Files

I have a spreedsheet that has only one file linked to it
at a time. However, I regularly switch this linked file.
I do this by simply going to edit >> links and going
to "Change Source.." I then select the file that I want
to link, and hit okay. But instead of replacing the
source file, this file is just added to the list of
links. I then would select the original source file
again, and repeat the process, and this time there would
only be one source file in the list of links. However,
this second step is not working anymore.

For clarification, I have one workbook linked to the file
std.xls. I then want the link to change to 2.xls. So
after doing the first step I would have both 2.xls and
std.xls listed as linked files. My question is, how do I
get rid of the std.xls as a linked file. I have searched
the whole workbook and there are no references to this
file.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I just tried a simple example (one linked cell) and it worked the way you
expected--just one linksource.

Maybe you have links that you don't realize.

Try Bill Manville's addin. It'll find the pesky ones.
