removing/disabling defender

how on earth do i remove this god awful program?

running vista 64bit and it's more of a nuisance than a help
either completely remove it, or simply disable it. just something to
stop it's constant moaning about legit software.... vnc software is a
prime example.

Hi,

Click start, type MSCONFIG and hit <enter>. On the startup tab, uncheck the
entry for Windows Defender. Click apply/ok, reboot at leisure.
