Removing a Win2k workstation from a domain

I have several workstations that I am donating to a local non profit and
after donating one I have come to realize that after removing the workstation
from the domain it has removed all administrative rights from the
administrator account. what can I do for this workstation and future
workstations that I donate?

For the workstation already removed see:

In the future before you remove the computer from the domain,
Open users and groups, view/write down the local administrator account name,
right click and reset the password.

The password has not been lost though, the administrative rights for the
account "Administrator" have been removed.

Are you sure you are logging on with the *local* admin account?
Is the administrator account removed from the administrator group?

There is only guest and Administrator, do I need to delete the Administrator
account? What is weird is that the workstation never gave me the option to
logon locally after pressing Ctrl Alt Del just user and password not options.
I have never seen thisbefore.
