Remove Windows XP Pro

Paul

I am trying to remove XP Pro and reinstall Windows Me as
I am donating the computer and want to install XP Pro on
the replacement computer.

The old computer is a Gateway, and the original CD's
won't start the restoration process, even though it tells
me to restart the computer, the process doesn't start.

I have a 384 MB Gateway Essentials 800c, 800 MHz, 60 GB
HD, original OS Windows ME.

- Boot your machine with a Win98 boot disk from www.bootdisk.com.
- Use fdisk.exe to delete all existing partitions, and to create new
ones.
- Run setup.exe on the WinME installation CD.
