Remove Windows Setup from boot menu

Hi
I was trying to upgrade XP Pro to XP SP2 from a CD but the installation
failed during copying files becasue the CD surface was damage (according to
the message). Now everytime I boot up my computer, it sent me into a boot
menu and ask me

1)Windows XP Prof
2)Windows XP Setup

By defult it will boot me into the Setup and only gave me like 5 seconds to
change the selection.

Can anyone tell me how to remove that Windows XP Setup from the boot menu?
Someone told me I can remove it by booting into the "fake" DOS and use
"FIXMBR" but I can not use the CD at all.

Hi Jason,

Be real quick on the draw and change the selection when the boot menu is
displayed. When you have successfully booted into Windows XP Prof, you'll
need to edit the boot.ini file. Right-click on My Computer, select
Properties, Advanced tab. Click on the Settings button in the Startup and
Recovery section. In the System startup section, click on the Edit
button.....this will open your current boot.ini file for editing in Notepad.
A default boot.ini file would look something like this:

[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect

Your "default=" line will contain a reference to Windows XP Setup, and the
reference to Windows XP Setup will also be listed under [operating systems]
Delete the reference to Windows XP Setup under [operating systems] and then
edit the "default=" line to reflect the Windows XP Prof selection........it
would probably be easiest to highlight and copy the reference to Windows XP
Prof under [operating systems], ensuring that you highlight the portion to
the left of the = sign, and then paste it to the right of the = sign in the
the "default=" line.
Once done editing, go to File>Save and then File>Exit. Click on OK in the
Startup and Recovery windows, then OK in the System Properties window.

Regards,
