Remove names from distribution list

O.K., I have been trying to figure out how to get a persons name to appear in
the "TO" field when sending mailing to people in my distribution list. Now
that I know how to do this, Outlook displays a messages that tell me that
names in a distribution list will be ignored. So, I'm only able to send to
names that are not part of the distribution list.
I need to know if anyone can tell me how to remove names from names from my
distribution list to my contacts without have to re-type them all over again
and will there be a way to identify my distribution contacts from my personal
contacts?

I am not totally sure that I understand your question. However, when I
remove names from my distribution list, they remain in my Outlook 2003
contact list. Further, I assigned each person in my contact list to a
category. This way I can see them in both places, the distribution list if I
open it or in the contact list if the view is set so that the names are
grouped by the categories. The other advantage to this is that when e-mail
is returned for whatever reason, I can keep the name in my contact list with
no e-mail address and remove it from the distribution list temporarily. Hope
this helps.

You need to use a mailmerge for this. A DL won't produce what you want.
