Remove Hotfixes?

Hi-
I am rapidly running out of hard disk space on my PC and
was wondering if I am able to remove the Windows Hotfixes
via add/remove programs- are these Hotfixes cumulative,
or does the latest one downloaded replace the older one?
Obviously I wouldn't delete them all, I just thought that
if some were now obsolete I'd remove them and get some
more disk space. Thanks, Jamie

You can remove the backup copy of the hotfixes which

will clear up some space on your HD.Go here

www.dougknox.com
click on the XP utilities page,and look for a script for
removing the back up.Caution once you do this you will be
unable to uninstall these hotfixes so be sure that you
are having no problems due to these patches.

Look else where for things to trash , but I would not

recommend uninstalling hotfixes. You stand to lose
security and stabilty in your system it is not worth the
small space you'd gain. They are cummulative and an
important part of your OS as a whole

They are *not* "cummulative," you dolt. "Cumulative" means
that each new update includes all of the previous ones.
Service packs are cumulative (although they will also
include new material) but individual hotfixes are not.

I don't need to debate you on updates and service packs.

You need to Read the rules of News Groups. The greater

interest here is not the exact definition of a word , it
was used as a certain meaning and I replied using the
same, but rather the importance of Updates and keeping
them.
