Remove Country/Area Code from contacts

Is it possible to remove the area code field automatically included in the
phone number field when creating a new contact? Mobile/cell numbers are
displayed incorrectly and show the first two numbers as part of the area
code. Many thanks

Uncheck that option in Outlook's Dialing options... (Contacts > Actions >
Call Contact > New Call...)

Hi,
I have Activesync update my contacts from outlook2003sp2 to my imate jam but problem is outlook keeps storing the mobile numbers as (xx) xxx-xxxx and this is synchronised across to the phone.. I want to store it as xxxxxxxxx and enter it as that, but outlook always convers it back when saved...
option is already unchecked to add country code..
anyone with perls of wisedom...
also.. contacts that i have imported, (prob an earlier ver of office?), with xxxxxxxxx already entered seem to stay that way until fiddled with..
must be a fix somewhere..
