remove attachments in bulk

I don't necessarily need to save every attachment (I most likely did at the
time it came in, or emailed it out, so I already have it somewhere) but I
would like to remove the attachments for a bunch of emails at one time so
that I can keep the email for future reference. I see some add-ins, but this
is for work, so I dont' see spending any $$ on this. Is it possible to do
this using code?
