Removal of User

I have been able to remove a user from the control panel user group, but when
the new user logs on with her password to her account, the desktop is not the
new user, but the person whose account has been removed.

When I go into the c drive, documents and settings, the removed user is
still showing and when I attemp to delete, I get a message stating it is part
of windows and cannot be deleted.

Found this problem out since the new user has been saving to what she
thought was her desktop, only to have the path indicate it is the old user's
desktop.

From what you describe it seems that UserB has a home
folder called "UserA". While it is possible to rename this
folder without loss of data, you need to ask yourself if you
really want to go to the trouble of doing so. After all, the
profile name is not normally visible to the user. Do you
have any strong reasons for wishing to rename it?

It sounds like your old user was using the built-in Administrator
account instead of a separate user account. This would explain why you
cannot delete it. You may also have simply renamed the user account
instead of making a new one; it's hard to tell from your post exactly
what you did.

Make a completely new user account and copy over any data you need from
the Administrator account (or whichever account was really being used).

You will need to log into the new account once before you can copy
anything to it.
