Remote Shutdown

Hi

Can anyone tell me how I can remotely shutdown another XP machine?
I'm not using domains or anything, just 2 XP machines (one home, one pro - soon
to be both Pro).

I've seen the setting specifying WHO can shut down remotely, but how do you
specify a username/password for the shutdown command?
i.e. If one machine has remote shutdown access for Administrators, would I have
to logged on as an administrator on the home machine to shut it down, or would I
have to somehow identify myself as an administrator for the pro machine?
Assuming it can't be done unless both machines were pro, how would you go about
it?

There doesn't seem to be any documentation as to how this all works if you
aren't on a domain...... Unless it doesn't work without a domain...?

TIA

Use the SHUTDOWN command from a DOS prompt. For help type
SHUTDOWN /?
at the DOS prompt.

No need for this. You need to be logged on as an Administrator on the
machine from which you initiate the shutdown. You do not have to logon
to the remote computer from this machine.

Thanks.

Windows XP Home doesn't seem to have the ability to be remotely shut down... Is
this correct?
