remote procedure call service terminated unexpectedly

A friend has a problem with her system rebooting every
couple minutes with the following error message -

Windows must restart because the remote procedure call
service terminated unexpectedly. Shutdown was initiated
by NT Authority/system.

Has anyone had this problem before and is it symptoms of
a dreaded Virus attack? Thanks,
