All of a sudden Windows XP keeps booting me offline within
about 2 or 3 minutes of going online with my dialup
connection provider.
Then I get the following error message:
NT Authority System
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Service Terminated
Then the error window tells me to save my work because the
system is going to reboot in 30 seconds... which it does.
What the heck is a "remote procedure call"? I'm not on an
NT system. My XP is not networked in any way with any
other computer. I haven't installed any new programs on
the computer between yesterday (when I wasn't having this
problem) and today. I haven't changed any system
settings... I haven't downloaded anything from the
internet... my antivirus software is running properly and
not detecting any virus activity.
Anybody have any ideas why this is happening and how to
stop it?
Thanks so much!
