Remote Desktop

Hi All

I need to connect to a remote PC via remote desktop. When I try the screen
comes up like it's starting the session but it stays blue and eventually
says that the connection to the remote computer was broken. this may have
been caused by a network error. please try connecting to the remote
computer again. I've tried 5 or 6 times but always get the same error. The
network connection is fine cos I can copy files to the server on at the
remote location. I can ping the pc. The password and settings seem to be
fine.

Any ideas ? Cheers for any replies

Do you have permission to connect the server?
Or have the server been configured to allowed Remote Desktop ?

Hi I'm connecting to a PC not a server. (the server was I was talking about
was on the same network I was just showing that the connection to that
network from mine was working)

I've got the user in the remote location to tick both boxes in the "Remote"
section of my computer --> properties. and I am using a domain asmin
unsername and passoword so I think all is ok.

Thanks for the reply helen, any more advice greatfully accepted.

Hi.
Port 3389 must be open for Remote Desktop at the firewall in PC which you
connect to.

PS: My name isn't Helen but Heelen. And I'm a boy not a girl. ^o^
