Remote Desktop

Is it possible to install the Remote Desktop application on a Win2K pro
workstation and access it from another Win2K pro workstation? I can access
Win2K servers but not another workstation.

Assuming that you meant can you install Terminal Services on a Windows 2000
Pro workstation, then answer is no. The only thing Windows 2000 Pro
supports is the Terminal Services client to connect to other resources.
Windows XP is the first desktop operating system to support a remote desktop
connection.

There are 3rd party solutions out there for Windows 2000 Pro. (PCAnywhere &
VNC are two that immediately come to mind.)

I know about VNC - but the vendor has asked that I use Remote Desktop.

Thanks for the info.

My understanding is that you can go from xp workstation to xp workstation with remote desktop and from w2k pro to a terminal server, but not w2k pro to w2k pro.
