Remote desktop won't log in.

Hello.
We have setup an xp pro machine at a customers which has digital cctv
installed onto it, we have setup remote access so the customer can log in
from home etc and view recordings without having to go into their office.
This has been working fine until last week.
When the client connects to the remote machine it connects and asks for the
username and password once this is typed in correctly the screen stays black
with the white cursor then after a minute the connection drops.
The remote machine then has to be manually re-booted for it to be viewed
again in the office.
I checked the event logs and it has the following:
The RDP protocol component X.224 detected an error in the protocol stream
and has disconnected the client.

It has the event ID of 50.
Any Ideas?
Thanks.

Hi Janetdeb,

I had the same problem last week. Have you tried to logon with another user
account? I was able to logon with another account. So I renamed the local
profile of the original account and was then able to successfully establish
an RDP connection.

Hope this helps

Regard,
