Remote desktop Setup

sI have two PC's (XP) and trying to setup/run/test remote desktop. I don't
need to install (I tried) remote desktop software as I'm told already
available.

I try and connect one machine to another (and vice versa) through
accessories/commications but always end up with the Windows login window
asking for passwors. As I'm only user, I don't have login password set so
when I press return key I get the following mesage

"unable to log you on due to account restrictions"

Can some one help me get this to work

Remote Desktop, by design, requires a password for security. Its a big
security risk to do otherwise.

Ok. So how do I set password for Remote desktop without having one for
windows logon. I'm the only user and I don't want to be typing a password
everytime I log into my (only) account

Set it up to automatically log you in at startup (TweakUI Powertoy can do
this easily) after setting your password and make sure you don't have the
screensaver set to require a password if it is set to lock the screen.

Shenan,

Thanks. This solves problem. PC can be started without the need to input
password. If need access to it form another PC, then need to have logged
out, then input (remote desktop) passord from other PC. Voila.

What would be useful is to be able to access when user is logged on and can
see what is being done. For example, I have PC's upstairs whilst my wife has
one downstairs. Useful to access hers from upstairs when she has problem but
also when she's logged and can follow what I'm doing. I this possible with
Remote Desktop ????

It is with Remote Assistance.
She would have to request it from that system, however.

Alternatively - VNC (Ultra or Tight versions in my opinion) - could do what
you are wanting pretty easily.

Shenan,

You will need to create the accounts to the corresponding pcs on each
other then enable remote desktop on both. Select the user accounts
you just created as allowed for remote connections
