Remote desktop or VNC? Opinions?

Hi everyone,

We use this sweet program at http://www.vncscan.com so we have the choice to
use either their built-in XP RDP or use their deployment wizard to deploy
UltraVNC with encryption enabled and Active Directory authentication.

The question is which option would be best? All of our computers are on
either a trusted LAN or accessed remotely with VPN.

If you already have the choice on all of the machines to use Remote Desktop
and all the machines are in the same domain - I am unsure why you would need
to use VNC at all.
