Remote Desktop not working

I have the following configuration at 2 sites:

A site to site VPN that is working with a remote Media Center PC that can
access the VPN and the network shares but unable to access via RDP. Gets the
error "network path not found" or something similar.

The static IP of the MC PC is 192.168.111.41 and my local site server has an
IP of 192.168.1.2. There is a second PC that is XP Pro, in the same subnet as
the other remote.

I'm trying to use RDP to connect using the Media Center PC via the VPN to a
locally attached PC at my location. Port 3389 has ben enabled at my site and
the RDP has been configured to allow connections from the U/P of the remote
connection.

I was thinking that it was the subnets but I think that is fine. I am going
to get with my provider to verify that port 3389 is open on their end
(Managed Security), but I think it is.

Am I missing something? I know thet I did RDP before and it seemed straight
forward.

Thanks,

Do you RDP using IP or hostname? If it is hostname, it could be the name resolution issue. This post may help,

I RDP using the IP since the host name didn't work. I had previously created
the RDP shortcut on a network, trying to simplify it fot the end user at the
remote end. I think that hosed it up and I walked him through icreating it on
his desktop and the RDP worked.

The issue that I'm having know is with QuickBooks, which doesn't seem to run
over a VPN type connection. It is painfuly slow and I think its a design
issue. Any help there would be a wonderful thing.

Thanks

We have seen many issues like one running QuickBooks or Access over VPN. However, running QuickBooks via RDP over VPN should be OK.
