Remote Desktop Failure

I have 2 different IBM Thinkpad T30's that will not allow
a Remote desktop connection. They both error the same
way. The screen begins to paint and the toolbar shows at
the top. But, when the logon screen shoudl appear there
is a error message instead.

User Interface failure: Winlogon.exe Application Error
The instruction at "0x1003a780" referenced memory. The
memory could not be read.

The exact error is happening on 2 machines and may be on
more than that. Any idea how to fix this without having
to scratch install the OS?

Thanks in advance

Try using System File Checked (SFC) to scan for corrupted files:

- open a Command Prompt window (go to Start\Run and enter "cmd")
- enter "sfc /?" for help

Nice command, but no luck in fixing the Remote desktop
problem... still the same, it connects to the remote
machine, paints the background like it should, puts up
the toolbar a the top but when it shoudl be displaying
the winlogon.exe it fails...

Any other suggestions?
