I've searched through the news group and found similar postings, but none of
them has helped.
I get the following connection problem with RDC.
"The client could not connect to the remote computer.
Remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to
accept new connections.
It is also possible that network problems are preventing your connection.
Please try connecting again later. If the problem continues to occur,
contact your administrator."
Both machines are running XP Pro. They are on different LANs. Both have
cable modems
and sit behind routers. Port forwarding of 3389 is set on both routers. RDC
is enabled on both
machines. No proxy servers. Both machines have ICF turned off. Each
machine can ping the other.
I have added the user names to Remote Desktop Users and also through
gpedit.msc (Allow logon
through Terminal Services). I have remotely logged onto the router and
checked the log status to
verify that the 3389 packets are not denied by the router. netstat -a says
that both machines are
"listening" for port 3389. I have turned off and on the RDC. PingPlotter
says that there is zero packet
loss and an average of 25ms round trip.
Just as a sanity check, I removed the routers from both ends. Still receive
the same error.
Is there anything else that I can check / do?
This has been very frustrating. Any help would be very appreciated.
TIA,
Steve
