Remote Desktop Connection and autoadminlogon

Make sure that auditing of logon events is enabled on at least one of those
computers if possible and then look in the security log to see if there are
any logon failures and reasons why. Also make sure that you are not trying
to access the computer using an account with a blank password as described
in the link below. If none of that works or applies try configuring a
computer that does not have autologon to see if that makes any difference or
not to see if that is the problem or if something else is the problem. You
might also try using a local user account on the computer instead of a
domain account to see if that makes any difference or not. I am not positive
but there may also be a problem if the target computer is locked as often is
done with a screensaver timeout. --- Steve

What I did find out is that if the auto login account is logged into windows,
I cannot remote into that PC. However, if I log off that account and log in
as any other domain user, I CAN remote into that PC. I think it has to do
with the registry autoadminlogon key.

Thanks for sharing what you found out. Apparently there are ramifications of
using auto logon that restrict computer access from RDP. Normally when you
RDP into an XP Pro computer you are warned that any logged on account will
be logged off and I guess that is not an option with an auto logon
account. --- Steve
