remote desktop cannot connect since using a router

jay

i used to connect form home (xp pro) to work (sbs 2k)
using a vpn & remote desktop and just dial up with no
problems.
i have since installed broadband and a router and can
still achieve a vpn connection to the server but i can no
longer connect through remote desktop. I have tried
forwarding port 3389 to my servers i.p. address through
my home router but still have no remote desktop
connection!
Help?

Port 3389 must be opened and forwarded on the router/firewall at work, not
your router. Talk to your network admin.
