Remote Desktop and DOS based printing

I am trying to get a dos application to print using
remote desktop within XP pro.

When I connect I can see the my printer on the remote
system within windows only, when I go to the dos prompt
and try to redirect the LPT1 device I can not see my
remote printer. The appliacation I am trying to run only
supports redirection to LPT1, LPT2, or LPT3.

The printer works great in windows, but not at all in dos.

I am not sure if the is supported or not.

Can anyone help?
