Remote Boot Setup Installation Error

R

Rene

I've just downloaded Windows XP Embedded edition from the Web. When I run
setup.exe, I get the dialogue showing all of the different installation
options, I was able to install everything except the "Remote Boot Setup".
Every time I click on this option I get:

Windows Installer

The Installation Package Could Not Be Opened. Verify that the package exists
and that you can access it .......... etc.

I searched the newsgroup but I wasn't able to get the answer for the reason
I can't install "Remote Boot". Could some one help me figure this out?

Thanks.

Rene,

Remote Boot Setup is for Windows 2000 Server. It has to do with remote
booting the OS from W2K server.

BTW - What is the URL that you downloaded XPe from? Is this the eval?

Rene,

This is a known issue, though I don't know why MS is still missing the
Remote Boot msi file from downloads.

Check Andy's [MS] reply here

Or you can ask MS to mail you the missing file (CD).
