Remote Assistance

I have a friend who wants me to show her some simple things on her computer.
We both run home versions of XP. I would like to access her computer via
the remote help facility (which has worked very well when I have needed
help.) The trouble is she is quite lax about security.

I use an up to date anti-virus/firewall prog, plus 2 anti spyware progs, & I
try and follow good practices.

Is there any chance I could pick up stuff from her computer if I worked on
it? I hope not. I'd really like to help her if possible.

Advice would be much appreciated.

Not very likely, I don't think. Taking remote-control of a computer doesn't
give that computer any access to yours, other than opening one IP port to the
remote-control app. It isn't the same as sharing files, which opens a lot of
vulnerabilities.

Many thanks!
