remote access problems

I have an office PC set up for remote access, so that I can get at it from
home. I have tested within office and remotely, and it works fine. If I go
home and try and access, the screen pops up, and immediately kicks me out.
I have made sure my PC is set to not hibernate. What could be causing this
problem?

If your office PC is behind a firewall or router, you need to ensure that port 3389 on the office router/firewall is forwarded to the machine you want to connect to.

That's not the problem as we are able to connect remotely if someone just
used the PC. It's when you wait a while without using the PC, and then try
that it's a problem. I turned off hibernate under the power options, so now
it least momentarily connects, but it disconnects immediately without any
message. This is from a saved connection with saved user code and password
info, that has worked properly, sometimes!

Perhaps there's some other powersave issue??
