Remote acces via modem

B

Bob

I am trying to find out how to set up remote desktop to
access my work computer via modem dialup, while my home
computer is not connected to the internet. Is this
possible in XP's remote desktop? Or would I have to
purchase a separate programme such as PCAnywhere?

Thank you for your help. Please send replies on email as
I do not have access to this group often.

Look at the first part of this page that details how to setup XP as a RAS server.

Dial the RAS server telephone number direct from the other box. Once the connection is made start
Remote Desktop and call the remote PC using the top IP address, which is the gateway address,
usually 192.168.x.1
