reminders do not work

When I open Outlook I get the message - "There was a problem reading one or
more of your reminders. Some reminders may not appear."

I get this message even if I have nothing in my calendar. If I do put
something in there and want it to send me a reminder message, the message
never happens.

Under the "to do bar" there is a message "The operation failed. An object
could not be found."

I did just upgrade from 2003 to 2007.

I had a similar To-do bar problem with task reminders. I found (by accident)
that I think I had created a duplicate outlook .pst file (at least clicking
file/data file management indicated that) and deleteing it solved the problem
so you could check for that.

Just wanted to let others having similar problems with reminders not working
and have tried the /cleanreminders but does not clear out the problem. In
Outlook 2007, Tools/Acct Settings/Data Files Tab - check to see if you have
more than one Personal Folders. If so, delete the folder(s) that's not
flagged as Default. I did this and it took care of my problem immediately.

I would be very careful about deleting or removing personal folders files.

An easier option is to hit Ctrl-6, which will show every folder
available in your mail profile from every PST, and then to check for any
errant Calendar folders and to take care of them that way.

Actually, removing the data file is safer - its not deleted from the drive
and can be added back but deleting calendar folders could delete one you are
using and if you do something stupid like empty deleted before realizing the
mistake, you may loose the calendar.

In many cases, the only way to fix it is by editing the message store - see
http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/cleanreminder.asp for instructions.

I agree with you Diane, but here the word "Delete" was used instead of
remove, which can unfortunately lead someone to delete the actual PST.

Unlinking a PST from a profile is harmless, of course.

Just a minor clarification so we can save someone from making that mistake.

Well, you can't delete it from the Data files tab and the OP didn't say he
went into Windows Explorer... so even though he used the wrong terminology,
it shouldn't cause anyone reading it to delete the pst from the hard drive.
