reminder service

I've read these newsgroups as well as Google searches.
Everything say to start outlook with one of two switches to get rid of the
annoying error message "Cannot start the reminder service. Unable to show
reminders".
Basically, neither of the two command line switches do anything.
I can start Outlook with the switch and it starts fine.
Soon as I start Outlook again however without the switch, I will usually see
the error message.
I don't use reminders and I never have. Why does this error box message
appear???
It is very annoying especially when I'm composing a message and not watching
the screen. I go to look at what I've typed for errors and I find that I
have not typed anything because a stupid error box about a reminder service
that I never use has popped up!

Surely something can be done about this. Outlook 2003 is a great program
and it is very flexible. But this stupid reminder service message sucks.

Any ideas at all???

Thanks Much,
Adam

Unless you manually delete reminders from tasks or calendar items, you do
use reminders.
