Remaining Battery Time On Laptop

G

Guest

i recently bought a new laptop, Targa visionary xp-210, no matter how much i try (regedit, bios updates, driver updates) i cannot get the power meter to display the remaining time of the battery. it shows a percentage but never has shown the percentage

the processor is an AMD-M, i have seen other amd laptops with the remaining time so i am confident this is not the problem. i have installed the latest PowerNow driver updates but nothing changes

once again the problem is the power meter does not diaply the remaing battery time, displays the percentage only

Suggest you visit the manufacturer's web site and seek guidance in case
this a frequently asked question. This probably a bug with their
hardware/software and you should seek guidance and resolution from them.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

How can it display the percentage if it has never shown the
percentage?

Contact your vendor. Most notebook power schemes are proprietary.

i have checked the website and didnt find anything.

i'll email targa. i feel its a problem with xp recognising the battery
because in the device manager it displays Microsoft compatible or something
and not a manufacturer name. i'll post my results for anyone else with
the same problem.

Since laptops vary so much in design, every mfg'r has to
customize inside the MS power mgmt. software. Only the
laptop mfg'r will have new drivers.
