Reinstalling XP, Works Calendar

I'm running Windows XP SP2 on a Media Center configuration, purchased from
Best Buy, configured by Gateway.

I have a problem with Works Calendar; it says "Works cannot access one or
more of the files it needs to run the Calendar." The messages recommends
that I reinstall MS Works.

Fair enough. Only one problem: I don't have a Works CD. In fact, I don't
have any CD with Windows s/w on it. When I bought my system, it had Windows
preinstalled on it. The first thing it did when I powered it on was to
create a system recover cd set (5 cds).

So, if I go ahead an uninstall Works, how am I supposed to reinstall it with
no cd?

I already searched MS's KB, btw, and the article said I should reinstall
Works. Curious, though: Has anyone run into this, and if so, have the steps
so described actually solved the problem and retained the data file?

You are looking in the wrong places.
Your help will come from Best Buy and/or Gateway.

They are the ones who decided to package it the way they did and would be
the ones able to answer your queries about how you are supposed to install
something with the media they allowed you to create to recover your system.
