Reinstalling Windows XP

I have formatted my HDD and used the XP CD to install XP, but on some
occasions the install tells me it can not copy files from CD, so I open the
cd rom tray and try again sometimes it works and others it don't, is my XP
CD damaged? I have copied it to another CD and it does the same but only on
occasions as I reinstall rather frequently.

Are you using Smartdrive, where are you loading from, what is the speed/age
of your CD drive and what is the need to reinstall often?

Not using smartdrive, just pop in the cd and boot from it to format and
install xp, the cd rom drive is a new 52X, I've tried other cd rom drives
which do the same thing and have made another copy of XP, so when it tells
me it can't copy a certain file I pull out that cd and put in the other and
click retry and vis- versa.
