Hi Guys,
I need to install Windows Xp on my computer. I was running Win Xp, then
yesterday my motherboard died, so I will have to get another motherboard.
The problem being I will also have to get a new CPU, every thing else will
be the same, will I be able to reinstal it or do I need to contact MSoft
to be able to validate it again. Advice appreciated
Regards

Activating, validating and reinstalling are different issues. Reinstall
when / as you want. But then it must be activated. Depending on when that
was last done and whether the license is retail or OEM or branded OEM the
activation will go through either on the internet or making a phone call.
Validation is a different process.

If you want to use the old drive to boot the system, that depends on who
similar the old and new hardware are. If very similar it might work, but
normally you'll have to do at least a repair install, and at worst a clean
install.
