reinstalling windows components

I have a restore disk from computer manufacturer for my XP OS. I am trying to
reinstall just a few components, such as sound/voulme control, calculator -
basically accessories and games, but don't have a clue how o do it. I have
put the disk in the cd drive and found he files on my harddrive, but nothing
has worked so far. I am doing something wrong - please help!!!

When you open Control Panel/Add&remove....
on the left side there is an add and remove windows components
wether or not it will work with a restore disk I dont know...but it does not
hurt to try

unfortunately nothing seemed to work. couldn't get anything off the disk,
even with the disk in kept getting error messages that the file could not be
found. I have no clue, tried everything I knew and followed the on screen
instructions. I am open to suggestion - desperate!
