Reinstalling Explorer 6

E

Ed Brown

I recently upgraded to XP. When using the AOL browser I
keep getting an error message, "browser rejecting cookies"
I have set all of my Internet settings properly and have
spent time with AOL Tech support follwing all of their
instructions, but with no help. They told me that the AOL
browser uses Explorer and that my issue must be with
Explorer. My question is if I redownload Explorer I may
still have the problem, and if I delete Explorer I then
must use AOL browser to get to the Microsoft web site in
order to download explorer. That is the problem, the AOL
browser will not accept cookies so I can't get to the
Microsoft site. I have ordered the CD for Explorer but
that is backordered and won't ship until late Sept. Has
anyone had this issue? And what if any help has it been to
redownload Explorer? I have no problem when using just the
Explorer browser only when using the AOL browser, thanks.

I would first take a good long look at any/all of the following before
reinstalling IE6:

Suggest disabling any firewall or "system" tools until cookies are working
correctly. Make certain your time, date and time zone settings are correct.
