REINSTALLING EXCEL

G

I recently went into add/remove programs and deleted some which I dont use.
I found to my horror that I now cannot open word or excel. It goes into an
error message "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource
which is unavailable" and then gives me "error 1706".I have gone into system
restore and gone back a week.Every thing is fine except this.
I have Windows XP 2000. If anyone can help I would be most grateful

The Office software (Word and Excel) are not and never have been part of any Windows Operating
System.
You have to have the original Office install disk to replace or repair this problem.
System Restore will not fix the problem.

What was the "programs" you removed? This would help us to see where
your problem is.

You will have to re-install - I did that recently on an XP and found it would
not install until I decided to give my name as Administrator - it apparently was
not enough to be myself with admin rights - then it installed fine.
It is not quite so difficult on Win2K.
