reinstalled msn messenger 6.1 now wont run

was having trouble with msn messenger so uninstalled it
and reinstalled it on windows xp

now when i run it i get a msg saying its not configured
correctly and it tells me to reinstall it i do this and i
get the same msg everytime
can anyone help please

Johnathon - found this message and your reply and after
weeks of frustration thought i'd hit the jackpot, but
alas, still doesn't work. i'm getting the 'unable to sign
you into .NET Messenger, check internet connections'
message.

i had uninstalled windows messenger so suspect that is
the reason there was no box to unclick ofr 'run this
program when windows starts' or its equiv. i seem to
recall having unclicked it before though.

any other suggestions?

i have the same problem bud i had 6.1 then upgraded to
the patched one and now i get problems after i signed out
the one time wont let me sign back in so i uninstalled
and reinstalled now i get the same msg

They MUST fix this problem.....msn msger is my life
