Reinstall XP - Deleting All Current Files!

I have a problem with my computer being way slow, bogged down by a ton of
programs and problems. I've backed up all the files I want to keep (only
music, documents, photos). I had used my boot disc/XP Installation disc
earlier in the year to do an in-place installation to replace a file that
caused XP not to boot up.

My question is, how do I remove EVERYTHING and just have a clean reinstall
of XP (Home) just like it was the day I first booted up my computer? A clean
wipe. Start from stratch. I can't find a thing about it on MS' support center
and none of the search options are even close to what I'm looking for.

I don't have my boot disc on hand at the moment because someone I loaned it
to is taking too long to give it back. Much help would be appreciated! My XP
is now having an Explorer crash where everything gets frozen at boot up.
System restore was also tried but there's no directory that goes back as far
as my first boot up of the new computer.

Boot from the Windows XP CD. Do not choose "repair install", or anything
that has to do with repair. You will eventually be lead to a screen where
you will see the current operating system on the drive. Choose to install on
this drive. It will ask you if you want to format the drive. Say yes! Choose
to use the NTFS file system.

Then, continue with the install.
