reinstall Vista with MAK code, effect on installation count

I was wondering about the following
If a software or hardware failure requires me to reinstall Vista that was
activated with MAK does it use a new "instance" or is the previous one
re-used.

let me clarify with a scenario

if I have a MAK code for 100 activations, and I have used 50 (activations)
sofar when my testmachine crashes and is reinstalled. When I activate again,
will activation #50 be used, or will it use activation #51 ?

In the second case all reinstallations must be monitored as well, and it
will require to keep on buying mak codes....

Thanks for information on this

Hi,

From: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windowsvista/bb335288.aspx

"Additional requirements include the need to request more activations when
the number of activations passes the predetermined limit, the need to manage
the installation of MAKs (automated by Business Desktop Deployment (BDD)
2007), the requirement for reactivation when significant hardware changes
occur, and the potential need to manually activate systems using a telephone
when no Internet connection is available."

Which is about as clear as mud. Your best bet is to discuss this with your
SA contacts, as they may be able to provide a clearer definition.
