I was having problems with NetMeeting in Windows XP and I uninstalled it. Now I cannot find the download from Microsoft to install it again

Does anyone know where/how I can get Windows NetMeeting for XP

Hi,

Start/run conf.exe

If that doesn't start it, reinstall it this way: Go to the Control
Panel/Folder Options/View tab, set it to "Show hidden files and folders" and
uncheck "Hide protected operating system files [recommended]". Also uncheck
"Hide extensions for known file types".

Then, open Windows Explorer from Start/All Programs and go to the
C:\Windows\Inf folder. Locate the msnetmtg.inf file, right-click it and
choose install.

You may need to either insert your WinXP CD or know where your I386 folder
is located on the hard drive. You may also need to know where the
\ServicePackFiles folder is (usually under the Windows directory).

Hey Rick

Thanks for the information but I still have a problem

After inserting my XP Professional CD in the CD-drive, I open Windows Explorer from Start/All Programs and go to the C:\Windows\Inf folder. I locate the msnetmtg.inf file, right-click it and choose install. Here is where I start running into problems

After I choose Install, I get the following "Files Needed" messages

The file 'msh263.drv' on windows driver cabinet is needed
- I found this file located in C:\Windows\system3
- I click OK then get the next error below..

The file 'cb32.exe' on NetMeeting Files is needed
- I found this file located in C: - I click OK and it starts to copy files. I then get the next error below..

Setup cannot copy the file 'support.txt'. Ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change it and insert 'NetMeeting Files' in the drive you specify
- I have no idea what to do next

Any suggestions? I have tried locating the requested files off the XP CD but none are found..

Thanks

Dav

Hi,

Is there an I386 folder on your hard drive? Try pointing to it instead.
