Registry Repair Utility

W

William Harback

I'm experiencing a rather odd behavior... I'm using Windows XP Pro w/SP1 and
all security updates. When I execute the Regedit it comes up displays for
about 1-2 seconds and then closes down. I have run Norton Anti-virus and
checked for malware with negative results. This same behavior is occuring
with the task manager also.

Does anyone have any ideas what is going on and how to fix this problem?

Thanks in advance!
Bill

Thanks Dave. So you think it might be somewhat different than the repair
on the W2K setup disk?

Yes, the repair process simply replaces the damaged hive(s) with backups
found in;
%windir%\repair
and or
%windir%\repair\regback
