Registry Question?

Hi,

If I run regedit, then go into
Hkey-Current-User/Software/Microsoft/InternetExplorer, and then
highlight the Toolbar key, and then click the menu at the top of
Regedit where it says "Registry/ExportRegistryFile...", what does this
do exactly?

I know it creates a .reg file, but does it back up my entire registry,
or does it back up only the key that I have highlighted?

Thanks,
GregandMary

No, it doesn't backup the entire Registry.
If you use Export while the highlight is on
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer then it exports
that key (and any sub keys).
You will see in the Export Registry File dialog (bottom left) that the
default Export range is Selected Branch.

The Help makes that clear. Try the context sensitive Help [?]
