i have this registry scanner, and scanned my registry due to i have a virus that my sister downloaded -.-. and wanted to check something if it was something that she downloaded. well i found out some other keys i wasn't familiar with. i look them up on the internet and found out they were legitimate keys. but i found some that were malicious keys. some were spywares or some i coulnd't even find. some if someone would tell me if these are legitimate keys i would really be grateful.

some i might know what they are due to their name and the closeness of it to my programs, but i just put them there just in case.

also about the virus i had. it's something i haven't seen before. i went into safemode and started 4 or 5 scans. NAV, Spyware Doctor, AVG, Registry Mechanic. and didn't find anything! even when i was on my bed i heard my hard drive spinning when she was on NAV didn't tell me i was infected. i closed all my browsers everything. ended all non-essential proccesses and found that "iexplore.exe" was on. and i closed all my browsers. so i thought it might be a trojan but i wasn't informed by NAV if i was. so it's strange. if anyone could help me !! i would really appreciate it!!

scan my computer with hi jack this. wonder if this would help.

i just really want to know where "iexplore.exe" is executing from ; its directory because i have no browsers open so i want to know, so i can delete the virus or whatever it might be.

oh btw im a new member here. kind of young though but knows lots about computer for my age. im really into it. want to be a computer engineer when i grow older

i can see no one will help no matters. thanks for viewing the post though. but does anyone where i can find a legitmate site that i can download "wintasks" from? so i can find where "Iexplore.exe" is executing from. i would really appreciate, this is one of my last methods in deleting this virus !!?!?!?!

Iexplorer.exe is your desktop ... stop it, and no more desktop. go ahead, try it.

MS XP will do some "work" while not in use ... like preforming a new restore point ... that will use the HD.

You have a few things that could do with fixing in you HJT log ... would you like to know what ... or are we done?

no matters about that because i read a post about the HJK log on one of the threads and checked it out with my HJT log and had a few nasty things but i deleted them. i don't live in the u.k nor familiar with their currency? no matters. i downloaded a program had to look high and low for it "security task manager". strange none of my anti viruses detected it. but now its gone or i think? but it isn't on right now. also i should of said this earlier. of course i tried to end the process "iexplore.exe" but it keeps coming back so there was no use in ending it over and over again. it actually made it worse. few times happened that i had 40 proccesses on. i usually have 26 once i end all the anti virus ones except nav because it doesn't allow me. most of them were "iexplore.exe" taking up about 14,000k every proccess. so i ended all of them but one always come back when nothing is open! well no matter on the subject anymore the problem is fixed or i think. well thanks muckshifter for your help!
