Registry Key Modified Date?

Is there a registry editing tool that will show the date that a specific
registry key was modified? None of the editors I have found display the date
of change data.

That kind of information would have to be stored in the registry's
databases for a program to pull it up. As far as I know this information is
not tracked by Windows' registry.

I haven't used any registry tools other than regedit in ages but I remember
using one that took "snapshots" of the registry. When running the program
again, it could show what had changed since the last snapshot. Daily runs
or running after a software install would at least form a time frame for
registry changes.

Since that was such an interesting/useful feature, I would think that many
of the current third party registry tools would offer something similar.
Sorry I can't recommend a specific program.

Installed the "light" (free) version of Registry Manager from
http://www.resplendence.com/registrar_features_keyprop recommended by
Ramesh Srinivasan, Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User]
Windows® XP Troubleshooting http://www.winhelponline.com
and it does everything I need and more. For a free program it
is remarkably powerful.

Figured there would be a program somewhere that would do what you wanted.
Also saw Rameh's recommendation and checked it out. Looks like a nice
program. Enjoy!

Don't forget REGEDIT, export as text file for last write date. I already told the idiot OP in another thread it started.

Totally forgot about the .TXT export David. But then saw your post in
Help_Support groups y'day.

BTW, I was trying a lot to automate the "common tasks does not match folder
type" fix (Keith's note) by enumerating each Bags entry and grabbing the
modified date/time (lpftLastWriteTime). I tried this approach because I
noticed that the FolderType value is being written everytime when I opened
_and_ closed a folder. But this approach did not work out well.
