Registry Import problem

I need to do some editing to the Windows XP Pro Registry and can successfully
Export all Keys to a folder on my second harddrive, but when I try to Import
the Registry back I get an error message telling me that some program(s) are
using the Registry and I cannot Import the Registry back. I disabled my
anti-virus software before both operations. Can somebody tell me how to
Import an Exported Registry back? Thanks in advance, Mike

I forgot to mention that the reason I'm editing the Registry is an attempt to
restore the Windows Event Sounds that I lost when I installed a Logitech Web
Cam Pro 4000 and the software upgrade.

Please read my posting regarding that problem in this same newsgroup. I
have tried everything imaginable to restore the Windows Event Sounds but have
not been successful. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike
