Registry help!!!

I used a program called Reg Cleaner, but accidentally delete most of the
critical registry keys, including .exe and .lnk, so now nothing's really
working. Like when I want to run an .exe file, it says "You have to create an
associated folder in Control Panel". But now I can't even run Control Panel
and cannot even access regedit. I tried to recreate the reg key by Safe -
Mode with Command Prompt, but that didn't work either. The only thing I can
run on my computer is Internet Explorer, but the Internet software doesn't
work, so I basically can't do anything (can't open any folder because missing
..lnk key, ... )
Thank you so much! I could do anything to make my computer work fine,
including erasing everything and running Windows XP again.

Thanks! The only thing is ... I can't run the CD either. The .exe file
(setup.exe) won't work. Everytime I put the CD in, it displays the general
screen (when it shows tasks that allow you to choose which one, such as
"Install Windows XP", "Browse the CDs", "Perform additional tasks" ...

Most registry cleaners, back up what changes were made.
If you open reg cleaner, there's probably an option to restore the changes.
I would do this, before trying any major system restore.
