registry error?

My computer had some type of virus which Norton seems to
have fixed. However, now upon startup, I get a message
saying "reg678.dll" is missing.

How can I find that file, and how can I replace it to
remedy this error?

Did you check with your A-V vendor?
Entering "reg678.dll" into search there (Symantec) yields a number of
hits. You did not say the actual virus, but it may be a Lovegate
varient. It seems that they have provided manual removal instructions.
Wonder of wonders ;-)

Most likely a registry reference in one of the "run" keys....as
detailed in the article.
